Infectious Grooves started in the 1980's (read the Last FM article about Suicidal Tendencies referring to an article in 'Flipside fanzine' in 1982 and an Infectious Grooves track on the compilation 'Llena Tu Cabeza De Rock' made in 1986). The first breakthrough of Infectious Grooves is in the early 1990s. Infectious Grooves is a semi-humorous funk metal "supergroup" originally featuring Suicidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir, bassist Robert Trujillo (now with Metallica), and guitarist Dean Pleasants, with ex-Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins, Excel guitarist Adam Siegel, and keyboardist Dave Dunn. Their first album, "The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move…It's the Infectious Grooves", featuring a load of guests including Ozzy Osbourne, was released in 1991 at the height of the popularity of funk metal.
