Karpatenhund is a rock band from Cologne, Germany, and was created in 2004. Their debut-EP (after a Demo-EP in Spring/Summer 2005) was released in Autumn 2006. Their name comes from a youth magazine Die drei Fragezeichen (The Three Investigators, a detective books serie). The music from Karpatenhund clearly shows influences from US and British Indie music. Similar bands include Britta, Die Lassie Singers and Wir Sind Helden. The bass guitar portion is often replaced with a bass synthesiser, which gives the music a cool sounding, mechanical feeling.
