Quarterflash Quarter Flash, Quaterflash
Quarterflash is an American rock group formed in Portland, Oregon. Originally called Seafood Mama, they released a single, "Harden My Heart" in 1980 for a small local indie label. A year later they were signed by Geffen Records re-recorded the song, and changed the group name to Quarterflash. The name comes from an Australian colloquialism, "a quarter flash and three parts foolish." The band recorded 3 albums for Geffen, as well as the title track, "Night Shift", for the Ron Howard motion picture. A fourth album was recorded for Epic Records, but not released in the United States.
